Posted by in China, Digital, Inspiration, Latest News, Marketing

We are super excited to announce a new China Masterclass Webinar with special guest Colin Dai, Head of Asia Business, Thomas Cook (UK) Tourism, Fosun (复星) Tourism Group. Colin is a well-respected expert in the hospitality and travel industry, having connected Western brands with millions of Chinese travellers over the past two decades.
How to attract and build long-term relationships with Chinese travellers in the new normal

Colin has been at the leading edge of marketing and new business development for some of the world’s biggest airlines and travel companies, such as Virgin Atlantic, Qatar Airways, and, before recently joining Fosun Tourism Group (the new owners of the ‘Thomas Cook’ tourism brand).
Founded in 1992, Fosun has total assets of US$102.6 billion as of 31 December 2019, and a mission for providing high-quality products and services for families around the world and contributing to their health, happiness and wealth.
Colin is now the Head of Asia Business at Thomas Cook (UK) Tourism, which aims to serve 100 million Chinese families worldwide.

Questions we asked Colin:

  1. What are the main characteristics of the luxury Chinese travellers in general? How do they find information? How do they decide where to go?
  2. What are the common tactics to attract Chinese travellers and consumers? How can companies build long-term relationships with them?
  3. With COVID-19 and travel restrictions in mind in the next 6 or 12 months, how do you foresee the trends of Chinese tourism and their consumption behaviour abroad? What are the top Chinese tourism trends in 2021? How would UHNWIs travel behaviour change?
  4. When do you think Chinese tourists will travel overseas such as UK or Europe again? What can companies do now to engage with these travellers?

We hope you enjoy this webinar and please do share your thoughts with us at
